Sometimes crafting can be daunting. Not everyone is naturally crafty, but there are some crafts that EVERYONE can do. Today, I’ve gathered five simple crafts that anyone can make that will look beautiful in your home! These are simple enough for even a beginning crafter to complete.

5 Simple Crafts for the Home that Anyone Can Make

Our first project is this simple DIY State Artwork. To complete this project, all you need is a burlap canvas, a printer, scissors, paint, tape and a sponge brush. There are no fancy supplies needed! No Cricut or Silhouette! And you end up with this beautiful project to hang on your wall. I did my home state, but it would work with any state!

Expert Tip: For this type of project, the acrylic paint that comes in a tube works best. It’s thicker and won’t bleed under your paper.

The next project I want to share with you is this beautiful framed scrabble tile quote from Sum of Their Stories. For this one, you just need a box frame, scrapbook paper, old scrabble tiles, and a glue gun. With a bit of measuring and gluing, you’ll have a lovely gift or something to hang in your own home. This project is so simple, your kids could help you and you’d still have a beautiful finished product and will look like a crafty person…even if you’re not!

Expert Tip: Don’t get scrapbook paper that’s too busy. The kind pictured below works because it’s light colored, but if you get something with a bold pattern, your letters won’t show up well.

The next project has a few more steps than the previous two, but is still totally doable for the beginning crafter! And these adorable wood block snowmen will make your house a little more cheerful through the long winter months. The pieces of wood can be cut by the associate at the hardware store and the rest is super simple. There’s even a video in the post showing you step by step what to do. You’ll need wood blocks, white and orange paint and a brush, sandpaper, a black sharpie, a hot glue gun, and some fabric pieces.

Expert Tip: An extra set of hands is helpful in this project. The hats are a little tricky to get lined up right and having someone to hold them in place while you check on their placing and glue them on is a big help.

These adorable wood block snowmen are a simple craft you can make to decorate your home for winter.

This next project is another wood block project that is a perfect craft for beginners. It’s a beautiful DIY photo block that is perfect for showing off family pictures or just pictures of the kids! You could even have your kids help you make it for an extra personal touch. One of the things I love about this simple craft project is that they could be made for any season or holiday. Make one to put out at Christmas time, one to put out in the spring, one to put out for summer–each with a different design that matches your home decor! What a great way to incorporate your family pictures into your home’s design. For this project, you just need a wood block, paint and a brush, scrabble tiles, wood ball knobs, a hot glue gun, and whatever you’re going to use to decorate your block. Once you put together this photo block, you’re going to want to make more of them!

These blocks would also make great gifts from the kids to their grandparents for grandparents day! The opportunities are endless!

Expert Tip: Using two tones of paint is easy! Just mix a little white with whatever color you’re using for a lighter shade.

The final project I have for you today is not only beautiful, but also practical! This Menu Planning board will get you organized, help your budget, and reduce your daily stress level! You’ll need a large framed cork board, hooks, clothes pins, drill, paint, empty crayon boxes, colored cardstock, hot glue gun, metallic sharpie, fabric, binder rings, and printed recipe cards and menu cards. More details on how this was made are available on this post.

Expert Tip: This project is probably the most difficult on the list, but since there’s no drawing, needlework, or special supplies needed that most households don’t have or that you’d need to visit a craft store to find, I decided to include it. Even if you’re not an expert crafter, you can still make things for your home that are expertly crafted!

Make this beautiful menu planning board and get your meal planning organized!

I hope I’ve given some of you a vision for your home that you didn’t have before. If you have a desire to create something beautiful, you can do it! You don’t need special tools or skills for that! Get out there, find something you like, and create it! Even simple crafts can be beautiful.

Cute stuff! I love the scrabble tile frame, but I’d need to find a cheap game at a garage sale. Don’t want to use my tiles!
