A couple years ago, I did a busy bag swap for my girls where a bunch of moms got together, made ten of a certain type of busy bag, and then exchanged them. We’ve gotten a lot of use out of ours and I’ve now created printables for five different busy bags that you can use to create your own! Each printable has a materials list for other things you’ll need and instructions for how to do the activity. These busy bags are for ages 3-6. The activities can be adapted to fit a wide variety of abilities.

Clothespin Spelling Busy Bag
Print off the word cards and use clothespins to match the letters you write on the clothespins to the letters on the cards. Includes 26 cards –one for each letter of the alphabet!

Counting Busy Bag
Write numbers 1-10 on checkers or poker chips. Match the numbers to the correct card.
Rainbow Color Match Busy Bag
Use rainbow colored pom poms to make a rainbow on this fun printable!

Rice Numbers Busy Bag
Print off the cards and fill the numbers with rice! This one is great for tactile learners (which most preschoolers are!)

Shape Domino’s Busy Bag
This one requires no extra supplies! Print off the cards and play domino’s with your child! Or just let them make a “train” by lining them up end to end. (If you want them to last longer, use card stock and/or laminate your domino’s.) There are nine different shapes altogether!

Thank you for sharing these! They definitely seem to work for keeping kids busy and learning for a while!
