A couple months ago at my nephew’s birthday, he got what basically looked like a crocheted Frizbee. We thought there was no way it would fly, but boy, were we wrong!! I took one look at it and decided I could make one myself. This Super Flying Disk crochet pattern is easy to follow and works up really quickly.

These super flying disks make great gifts! Here are just a few people who are receiving these from me for Christmas this year.

  • Nephews
  • Nieces
  • Cousins
  • Brother

My husband even thinks they’re great — and that’s more than he says about most things I crochet. Lol!

My kids have been playing with the ones I’ve already worked up and they are 100% mother approved for indoor use. Now granted, my oldest is only 9–I don’t think I’d want a 12 or 13 year old boy throwing them around, but for our home, they’re the perfect indoor toy. We’ve played keep away, catch, and a fun game where the kids each have one to throw and they try to catch the other’s. It’s hit a lamp, the TV, a glass of water on the table, and the Christmas tree and caused ZERO damage.

But do they really work?

The best thing is, they fly REALLY well! Our living room/dining room is over 30 feet long and we have no trouble throwing from one end to the other. We haven’t tried them outside, but I would imagine they’d go even further.

I also love that we can fold these up and stick them in a purse or pocket so they can be taken anywhere.

But you don’t have to take my word for it. Get your free pattern and make one for yourself today!
