Uno Themed Party Ideas
Baby D turned ONE last month and in our usual fashion, we had a big birthday party! Because the girls have really been into playing Uno lately, Big D has decided he also loves cards! His favorite thing to do is spread them all over the living room, bend them up, and chew on them. In honor of this new found obsession, we decided to throw him and Uno Birthday Party!

Before the big day, D “helped” me get the decorations ready. He loved all the balloons!

Uno Party Birthday Cake
For the first birthday, we always have two cakes. The cake for the family and the smash cake for the birthday child. This was the cake for the family. It was super simple to make, just a cake in a 9×13 pan with multi-colored frosting and a card in the middle.

This was D’s smash cake. My mom helped decorate it and she picked out all the green, red, yellow, and blue colored sprinkles so the sprinkles would match the theme. I LOVE how it turned out!
UNO Themed Party Food
We did the same thing with the M&M’s…just picked out the colors we wanted.
For other food, we had hot dogs, fruit (yellow bananas, blue blueberries, green grapes, and red strawberries), cheese and crackers, and veggie straws. The bright colors match the Uno theme perfectly!

Uno Birthday Party Decorations
This party was so fun (and easy!) to decorate for! First off, a good friend gave me a bunch of her decorations! Then, it was easy enough to supplement with brightly colored decorations!
These pictures were so fun! I created the Uno card template in Photoshop and then inserted all the pictures for each month of my baby boy’s life. LOVE!

These cards on sticks were something my friend gave me. They were easy to stick into the blinds to decorate. The streamers across the top were from Party City and the medallions were two for a dollar at Walmart. We had lots of balloons already, but I bought a pack to be sure we had enough. I think we ended up with plenty! 🙂

To make this backdrop, we just cut holes in the top of plastic tablecloths and strung them up with some colored twine. These medallions and the banner were also from my friend. They added so much!!

Uno Birthday Party Outfits
Using this tutorial on how to make Uno Birthday Shirts, I made the kid’s shirts. I was thrilled with how they turned out!
I also made shirts for my older girls. One was “wild” and the other (who was four years old) was the “wild draw 4”. They loved their outfits!
Here are all three of my little Uno players together! The girls also had hair bows made from Uno cards. More on that later…

Our UNO Themed Party
Soon enough, it was present time. D was good at opening presents since he’d practiced at Christmas about a month before.
He got all kinds of wonderful gifts from all the family and he loves them all! This pillow was from us and since he’s such a snuggly boy, he loved it!!!
Then, it was cake time!!
Yum!!
Remember the girls’ hair bows? Well, D had one of his own…only it was a bow tie! I didn’t put it on until cake time because I knew he’d pull it off. But while eating cake, he wasn’t too bothered for at least long enough to get a good picture!

Well, Big D loved his party. I can’t believe how quickly he’s growing up. Happy birthday, Big D!

Cute! I especially love the wild shirts 🙂
Thanks! I’d thought about doing their ages, but I just couldn’t resist doing wilds. 🙂
I love this. I have a couple of girls who end every day by playing Uno together and talking. One has a birthday coming up. I think we need to give her a Uno party. 🙂
Do you have a template for the uno card banner
I don’t. You can find the cards here and my friend just glued them to construction paper triangles.

Where did your friend get the “Happy1st” cards inside the triangle banner?
I’m not exactly sure, but these look like they could be the ones. The triangles are just cut from construction paper.

Where did you find red, yellow, green, blue paper fans?
They were homemade. 🙂
